The History

  • In year 1998, we experienced downhill of textile business. We then ventured and invested MYR600,000 into a enzymes company in Thailand, trying to diversify to agriculture, fishery, and animal feeds businesses. We acquired 60% of the company shares – Royal Business International (RBI). This is the beginning of the agriculture involvement.
  • In year 2002, we started VI Biotech Sdn Bhd in Malaysia, focusing in enzymes. The acceptance level of enzymes was very low, less than 5% of local market could accept folia (liquid) fertilizer. It was very popular in Thailand, but Malaysia market was not ready for our fermentation bio-products such, Pesticides, Fungicides, Plant enhancers.

  • By the end of year 2005, we have already Invested MYR2,000,000 and started to penetrate our enzymes products into gardening market via Asas Tani Exhibition. We started to apply enzymes to palm solids including Palm Oil Mill Effluence (POME) and Empty Fruit Branch (EFB), sold as organic compost in year 2006.
  • In year 2008, we introduced organic compound fertilizers to the market. 5-5-5-2 (magnesium), 3-3-3-1 (magnesium) in powder form. We already master the compound fertilizer knowhow. However, the market demand for granular form instead of powder.
  • Three years later, we jointed-venture with Linaco Biotech Trading Sdn Bhd to convert agriculture waste into something useful, because Linaco has plenty of coconut oil cake as waste. The end product is O-Plus-1 for chrysanthemum. At the same time, we ventured into traditional Amino Acids fermentation extraction using enzymes, we achieved very good results and started the R&D of hybrid Amino Acids extraction using hydrolysis + fermentation, with the following target:
    • Amino Acids > 30%
    • Must have organic acids > 3 out of 8, such as lactic acids, citric acids, aspartic acids.
    • Entire process must be completed within 12 days
  • In year 2012, we started Moulinson brand. We realized the potential of fermented POME (here referred to as POME Sludge) as a very good and stable medium. It is stickiness when it’s wet, and it’s not too hard when it’s dry. We introduced Black Pearl in the same year, using POME Sludge as main ingredient. There are multiple suppliers in the market but mostly using the traditional methods to dig the POME sludge from the ponds, and dry it naturally, thus the NPK nutrient level is not consistent. We always looking for solution.
  • One year later, we replaced coconut oil cake with palm decanter cake for O-Plus-1.
  • In year 2014, we started to use compost tea to enhance our products to introduce more microbes into our products.
  • In year 2017, we acquired complete set of machineries to produce our own fertilizer, including cruncher, mixer, palletizer. We always face problem with suppliers, such in inconsistent raw materials, problematic raw materials, outsourced machineries problem etc.
  • In year 2019, we founded Moulinson Biotech Sdn Bhd, and decided to fix all the existing problems given by 3rd We moved our factory from Penang to Ipoh, which is near to several big oil palm factories as we wish to source and process our raw materials directly to ensure maximum quality control.
